Started in February 2016, I don’t think I realized how much I would put into this quilt. I wanted something special for my sister-in-law and her new husband (married April 2016), something I had never done before. I decided to take on one of Carolyn Friedlander’s slo sewing studio projects. She uses the hashtag #savoreachstitch to accompany these projects which “Celebrates the longtime art of hand sewing and of who we are as quilters.” Projects can come and go, however I decided to make an effort this time and reflect and savor each time I sat down to work on it. It’s a pattern that travels well because you stitch the arches and mounds on rows which I took with me on car & plane trips. Sometimes projects are hard to part with… lucky for me I will get to see this one again when I visit.
